Boy, oh boy, he really should start posting these for himself. Another love note from my man –
Happy Valentine’s Day, sweetheart,
As I sit here writing this, there’s a gentle snow fall outside, and I wish we could sit and watch it together. Snuggling on the couch with a coffee in hand.
I know that will likely never happen, but I can dream of it and the beach in Costa Rica you wrote about. Will, it ever come to be, and will we be too old when it does? I don’t know.
When we met, I’d never thought about love. I was taken with you from the start. You were funny and fun, sweet and sexy, and I’m glad you were my first.
I’d thought at the time it was about sex and that you’d be the first of many on my journey back from the sexless desert I’d wandered in for so long.
You weren’t the first of many.
You were the only one, and to have found you so quickly makes me wonder if we weren’t meant to find each other. I didn’t need much, but you gave me everything I thought I was looking for and so much more.
I know I wasn’t your first or last, but you picked me. Out of all them, you chose me. It was hard waiting for you, but I knew you were scared to have your heart broken.
And you showed me that I needed love more than sex. It was love I missed the most.
Now that I have it, I will treat your heart carefully because I know how fragile it is.
I will never let you down.
